Whether selecting a Gentle, Yin, Wall or Restorative yoga practice, at Yoga Vibhuti we make certain to offer yoga for EVERY body type and mood. Some students just don't want all that hopping around :) and that's okay with us.
GENTLE WALL YOGA
Yoga props allow us to embody or reach deeper into poses formerly unattainable. The wall is an extremely stable prop that provides a safe, unwavering base to explore alignment and the inevitable bliss that an authentic yoga practice provides. This practice is gentle and can improve your mobility, flexibility, strength and balance. You will feel results with the first class.
Mondays 11 am-noon.
Again, props are available to support tender knees and hips. Classes are led with awareness of potentially tweaky backs and shoulders... While students are always responsible for their participation, we make the practices accessible, easy to follow and safe. Enjoy the union of mind, body and spirit while improving your condition.
Fridays 11 am-noon
Is it difficult (or impossible) to get up and down from the floor? This could be causing you to avoid exercise. Our chair yoga series is authentic yoga that enables you to safely access forward folds, back bends, twists, inversions in the safest manner. We balance effort and ease as you calm your mind and nervous system. This practice requires registration for a six-week series. Thursday program includes meditation. At present, this is an evening program. If you are interested in daytime and willing to commit to a six-week series, contact DorothyO at 215.514.6065.
Tuesdays &/or Thursdays 6-7 pm
Again we use props to drape the body into relaxing positions that for some, generate healing responses in the body. We offer an ongoing weekly 75-minute practice (no registration), and intermittant two-hour practices that include Yoga Nidra (yogic sleep) which require registration. This practice is for those who can get onto the floor/mat and leave knees bent for extended periods. Not appropriate for everyone, but those who can, experience profound relaxation.
