According to Johns Hopkins Medicine, their largest randomized trial tracking yoga and arthritis (Sept. 2015) revealed that eight weeks of yoga improved the physical and mental wellbeing of those with knee osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis. Arthritis is the leading cause of adult disability (one in five suffers!). 90% of these folks are less active than their counterparts though yoga can improve flexibility, strengths and mobility. The study touts that sufferers may be unsure how to safely be active.
