Enjoy authentic yoga with DorothyO in a space 100% dedicated to stress reduction, strength building, flexibility and profound peace. Just as in any yoga practice - enjoy salutations, warrior series, twists, folds... No experience needed for this easy to follow series.
Did you know Chair Yoga is approved by the Arthritis Foundation? According to Johns Hopkins Medicine, their largest randomized trial tracking yoga and arthritis (Sept. 2015) revealed that eight weeks of yoga improved the physical and mental wellbeing of those with knee osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis. Arthritis is the leading cause of adult disability (one in five suffers!). 90% of these folks are less active than their counterparts though yoga can improve flexibility, strengths and mobility. The study touts that sufferers may be unsure how to safely be active.
Our complete practice may be the answer for you! It's perfect for anyone who has difficulty getting up and down from the floor, including those with joint replacements, tender wrists or knees, fibromyalgia, MS, rheumatoid and osteo arthritis, hip tension, spinal injury... also great for those rehabbing an injury. Feeling blue/depressed? Yoga will positively affect your glandular system and hormones. We have everything you need - just dress comfortably. We'll end with a short meditation (you can do this!) and final relaxation that leads to profound peace.
